The CDI (condenser discharge) of the ignition, or other ignition systems may have a problematic signal level, this signal is necessary for the proper operation of the tachometer on the instruments motogadget.

The sensor detects the signal, without contact, on the high voltage cables, and is therefore independent of the ignition type.
