The helmet is the most important element for the safety of the rider and therefore of the companions, so it is very important that, in addition to choosing a model that we like aesthetically, we also have to give a lot of importance to choose the right helmet size.
We should know that not all helmets are the same, just as not all heads are the same, so if a helmet model is fine with you in a specific size, that doesn't necessarily mean that another model, even of the same make and size, fits you just as well.
In the market there are many helmets, of infinite models and shapes, that can attract our attention, but each of them must provide the necessary safety component, for this, we must be sure that the size of our helmet is the right one.
To do this, when choosing your helmet, take the following considerations:
Using a tape measure, measure the contour of your head, turning it over with the tape at the height of your forehead (+/- 2cm above your eyebrows).
Once this is done, take as a reference the following table, to choose the appropriate helmet size:
Measurement of Your Head in cm. | size | It is equivalent to... |
---|---|---|
51-52 cm | 52 | XXS |
53-54 cm | 54 | Xs |
55-56 cm | 56 | s |
57-58 cm | 58 | M |
59-60 cm | 6 | L |
61-62 cm | 62 | Xl |
63-64 cm | 64 | XXL |
.
You've already received your helmet, removed it from its packaging, but you haven't removed its labels or protections, it's time to try it on, and find out if the size you ordered is correct.
Insert the helmet into your head, as you normally would, the helmet should look like it's not going in and it's going very fair. We're doing fine for now.
Once you've introduced it, make sure that even if you're doing just enough, it doesn't cause you pain anywhere in your head. If so, you'll need to change it to a larger size. If you don't get any strange feelings, we're still fine.
You should check that the helmet, either you are not loose, insert a finger or on the part that the helmet touches to your forehead, or on the back of the neck, if your finger passes well, we think you have chosen a size too large. If not and your finger comes in but with the necessary pressure, CONGRATULATIONS, that's your helmet.
